- Pots , pans, lids: To brew all-grain beer, you will need to have a large pot that holds 7 gallons of wort.
- Another fairly large pot is helpful to prepare sparging water while you are mashing.
- A large frying pan can serve well for roasting or toasting malted barley.
- A medium-sized sauce pan works well for heating up small amounts of wort for yeast starters and for priming.
- Pitchers: Very useful for moving water, wort, and mash around. Note the two sizes.

This outdoor burner setup was very affordable (We found this turkey cooker kit for less than $50) and it work great for brewing. This keeps the mess and the strong aromas outdoors and makes for a great afternoon outside. Highly recommended.
This allows us to mash in the same pot that we boil in. |

| You will need some method to crack the grain. It is important not to grind the grain into a powder, only crack it to leave the husks intact. A hand mill or grinder should work well. Some of the grinders are quite expensive. I love this one, but it did cost over $150. |
